This site is a work in progress and we aim to bring to you the most up to date, easily accessed information to help you keep your children injury free.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

We were formed in 1992 and presently operate under the auspice of Kidsafe NSW Inc.

OUR GOALS are to:

1. To minimise the risk of serious injury or death to children in the Hunter/Central Coast regions.
2. To reduce the stress on parents in dealing with child safety issues.

In order to do this most effectively we aim to establish, with government and community financial support, a Child Safety Education Centre which will incorporate the Regional Headquarters of Kidsafe Hunter.

OUR OBJECTIVES

* To ensure that Kidsafes’ key safety messages are effectively communicated.
* To reduce the incidence and severity of all childhood injuries.
* To have all homes child friendly.

TO DO THIS

* We aim to develop and consolidate a firm financial base to provide for the ongoing support of Kidsafe Hunter’s management and administration functions.

WHERE DO WE GET OUR FUNDING?

We are a non government, not for profit community organisation who derive operational funding from community donation, sponsorship, consultation fees and fundraising events.

Currently we are seeking funds from, State & Federal Government and sponsorship from philanthropic companies, foundations and the community, to establish the Child Safety Centre at John Hunter Hospital

Since our inception, Kidsafe Hunter has raised $200,000 in the building fund and Hunter New England Health have provided a block of land on which to build. To complete this project we require $1.7 million and your assistance is urgently needed.
